Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive review of three major Punjab Government initiatives — the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme and the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign — to assess their progress in Ludhiana district.

During the meeting, the DC focused on accelerating registrations under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana. To ensure maximum enrollment within a short period, the district administration has been organising special registration camps at 72 locations across all sub-divisions of Ludhiana.

Himanshu Jain directed officials to speed up the process so that every eligible family can avail the benefit of free medical treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh per year under the scheme. He informed that mandatory documents for registration include an Aadhaar card linked with a mobile number, Voter ID card and a birth certificate for any family member below 18 years of age.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries are entitled to free treatment including hospitalisation, diagnostic services and day-care procedures at government hospitals as well as empanelled private hospitals across Punjab and Chandigarh.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment, the DC said no eligible resident of Ludhiana should be left out of this transformative healthcare initiative.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the implementation of the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme. Under this initiative, eligible devotees are provided free pilgrimage facilities to sacred destinations including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib and other prominent religious sites. The Punjab Government bears all expenses related to travel, accommodation, food and other arrangements.

Jain emphasised that the scheme is inclusive and open to people of all castes, religions, income groups and regions. He instructed officials to ensure smooth, comfortable and hassle-free journeys for all participants.

Separately, he also assessed the ongoing Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign and urged citizens to unite and actively support the fight against drug abuse until the menace is completely eradicated from the district.

The DC underscored that these flagship programs reflect the Punjab Government’s firm commitment to the welfare, health and well-being of every citizen in Ludhiana.
