Ahmedgarh, Amid rising theft incidents in the city, a fresh case of burglary has come to light where an unidentified cycle-borne thief broke the locks of three grocery shops late at night. The incident occurred near Hind Hospital between 12:30 am and 2:00 am.
According to information, the accused targeted Goyal Kirana Store, Duggal A One Kirana Store, and Shiv Kariyana Store. The thief allegedly broke the shutter locks and attempted to carry out the theft. However, reports suggest that the attempt was partially unsuccessful.
Shopkeepers came to know about the incident around 2:00 am and immediately informed the police at 2:30 am by calling 112. Despite the information being shared at night, police reportedly reached the spot around 5:30 am, which led to dissatisfaction among local traders. They said that timely action could have helped in catching the accused nearby.
The entire incident has been captured in nearby CCTV cameras. In the footage, a suspicious person riding a bicycle can be seen roaming around the shops in the darkness and breaking the locks. Police have taken the CCTV footage into possession and started an investigation. Raids are being conducted to trace the accused.
Local traders have demanded stricter night patrolling to prevent such incidents in the future.
